In The Folded Flag We See The Heavy Price Of Freedom

Folds of Honor has grown from a vision into a movement. This folded flag is a constant reminder of those who have paid the ultimate price for our freedom. It inspires us to help equip and educate their loved ones in need of our support. Thank you for embracing the call.

Folds of Honor Mission Statement
Honoring Their Sacrifice, Educating Their Legacy.

Of the one million-plus dependents adversely affected by deployments, nearly nine out of 10 do not qualify for federal scholarship assistance. Since 2007, the Folds of Honor has carried forth this singular, noble mission. To close the gap, providing educational support to spouses and children of America’s fallen and wounded soldiers.

Your Call to Action
We plan on building a 2600 sq.ft. 2 story home at 3305 Aubrey Dr. in Johnsburg IL. The entire sales price from this home will go to Folds of Honor to help them accomplish their mission. If all goes well we should be able to donate approximately $ 250,000

The following have already been paid for, installed and donated; lot, sewer & water, excavation, foundation, drain tile, architect fees, village permits & fees. The following donations are pledged; plumbing ( PPI ), concrete material (Scurto Cement ), concrete basement, garage stops, and sidewalk installation (Orange Crush- Palumbo), HVAC( Ahltof Industries ) , Masonry (Rich Steineke) painting ( Mike Berkowitz) real estate commission (Remax- Gregg Klemstein), low voltage wiring(Low Voltage Service Inc. Tom McGough ) Roofing ( Michael Prate}.

Plans are out to a flooring contractor, electrician and carpenter contractor, drywaller, kitchen and bath manufactures, and others, hoping for positive responses.

We have asked them to donate what they can and request the same from their suppliers.

We also have about $75,000 pledged so far from individuals to help meet additional costs but more will be needed.

So now you ask what you can do to help these families that have sacrificed so much for us.

If you’re a contractor or manufacturer or have influence with one please contact me.

As an individual make a pledge or send a check. Folds will have an account set up to collect the funds and pay contractors what we cannot get donated. Some of the contracts are too large to expect all donated or subs too small to donate all of their trade. We’ll do the best we can to get as much possible donated. If donations exceed cost then that will also go to Folds.

Between Veterans Day and Thanksgiving seems the perfect time to kick this off. Goal is to have this completed and sold by Memorial Day as a tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice for this country.

If making a pledge please let me know. If you want to send a check now, make to “Folds of Honor”, send to:

Bill Schey
1435 S Barrington Rd
Barrington IL 60010

Folds will track and issues receipts for tax purposes.

This is a big project requiring a lot of work and we need all the help we can get to achieve our goal. I’ll provide periodic updates.
Please feel free to add your own input and forward to others that might want to help. If for any reason you would like to be removed from this list please let me know. “Otherwise I’ll be back.”
